"Watersprouts" on Lake Michigan
Budding waterspouts scurry along the Lake Michigan coastline on the leading edge of a storm front. From a calm start, the weather was near gale within two minutes. In the video, several waterspouts nearshore and further out would rise and wane without materializing into a full blown version.
Glad I wasn't on the lone boat off New Buffalo, MI, when this weather arrived. After riding out the leading edge of the weather, it eventually returned safely to port. They likely have stories to tell.
